Aufbaukurs Alpinklettern

Our climbing course began at 6:30 AM, where we gathered at the meeting point to review the weather forecast for the upcoming two days. With a less-than-ideal outlook for the second day, we made the smart decision to focus all our energy on making the most of the good weather and dedicate the full day to climbing and learning in the beautiful Tannheimer Tal area.

During our drive, we shared our climbing backgrounds and experiences, which helped us determine a difficulty level that suited everyone. Once we arrived at the parking area in Tannheimer Tal, we went through our equipment, selected the gear necessary for the day, and prepared for the approach.

As we hiked toward the base of the climb, we practiced route-finding and navigation skills. Our originally planned route (Morgenstund) was already occupied, but we quickly adapted and chose a nearby alternative in the Zwerchwand, Zwerchweg (6+), which turned out to be a fantastic choice.

We split into two groups and began the climb, stopping at anchors along the way to focus on advanced techniques. Under the guidance of Michael Brugger, we received valuable feedback on anchor building and belaying. Michael’s practical tips and personal insights helped each of us improve our climbing skills significantly.

After successfully completing the route, we enjoyed a well-earned snack at the top while soaking in the spectacular views—a truly rewarding moment! Of course, the adventure wasn’t over just yet—we still had to rappel down safely, which added another learning opportunity to the day.

We wrapped up the course with a relaxing meal at Gimpelhaus, where we reflected on the day, asked final questions, and shared a few laughs. It was a highly productive and enjoyable experience with Michael, one that left us inspired and will stay with us for a long time to come.
